What is the right temperature for fruit wines?
Long Term Storage Temperature:
Most fruit wines will not improve while aging in the bottle (exceptions being some of the higher tannin varieties such as elderberry, choke cherry, etc.). Wines are bulk aged while in production to optimize clarity and flavor. They are ready for consumption when you receive them. Wines should be stored away from sunlight and in a cooler area of the home.
Serving Temperature:
We tend to like our fruit wines served chilled, simply because we tend to like most beverages chilled for the refreshing qualities of a chilled beverage. Our fruit wines have plenty of flavor to still shine through when chilled, though, if you are into optimizing the flavor, some may be better at room temperature. Again, we believe that what you prefer, is what matters! Most will be room temperature by the time you finish the glass for that last lingering taste (unless of course it is too good to nurse that long! Then you have another!).
Other Serving Suggestions:
Here are some other serving suggestions our customers have shared with us:
- Make punch or a spritzer with your favorite flavor
- Apple wine with cranberry cocktail juice makes a wonderful punch!
- Use our peach or raspberry wine to make Sangria!
- They are also wonderful in hot beverages such as mulled wine or Glog.
Let your taste be your guide!
